The other day I was in the bookstore again and picked up a hold lot of great art books. I had never read "The Last of the Nuba" by Leni Riefenstahl. Quite controversial. Brilliant photos, that's for sure. At the same time an old fashioned look at anthropology. Even then, in 1974, already longing for the times when the noble savage was unaffected by civilization. And a sexist look at the Nuba society, where she does not identify with the women, only with the men.
